DundeeRetail Warehouse Development - Tenants Agent
Redbourn were instructed by MFI Properties Ltd to act as tenant representative in respect to the redevelopment and extension of the Kingsway West Retail Park by Land Securities Ltd, which included the MFI store. The development comprises a 220,000 sqft (20440 sqm) increase to the existing 43,892 sqft (4077 sqm) park together with a new 110,000 sqft (10,219 sqm) Tesco store. MFI’s former unit was located in the middle of the enlarged site and in order to form the main access road, car park and Tesco’s petrol filling station that unit was demolished. MFI occupied their new 20,000 sqft (1858 sqm) unit on the 26th December 2002 which was fitted out in to their new Conran style concept. Redbourn's
role included agreeing both the specification details to which the
new unit will be constructed and a complicated Method and Phasing Statement with
the developers to ensure that MFI benefit from continuity of trade. Throughout
the development Redbourn liaised with the developer’s team to ensure that
MFI’s interests were protected at all times; both during construction of the
new unit and during the completion of the retail park thereafter.
