Retail Warehouse Refurbishment and Extension

Redbourn acquired this 25,000 sq ft former Focus Do-it-All store and associated car park, together with an adjoining disused scrap metal yard.

Two planning applications were submitted, one seeking just the refurbishment of the existing store and the other the refurbishment plus an extension of 10,000 sqft to create a second unit. Permission was granted initially for the refurbishment proposals, which were completed for MFI (UK) Ltd in June 2001, fitting the store out as one of its new Conran Design Group concept stores.

Subsequently, the second application was approved following referral to the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions.
