Retail Warehouse Park Refurbishment

Redbourn exchanged contracts in early 2003 for the redevelopment of an 18 year old, 60,000 sq ft (5,574 sqm) retail park comprising three poorly laid out units, to form four new retail units.

The then current tenants of the park, MFI, Carpetright and Halfords, all took new units within the development to their current specifications, and the development was phased to enable Halfords to enjoy continuity of trade.  The fourth unit, of 14,100 sq ft, was created from the surplus space created following the rationalisation of the original floor space and was subsequently occupied by Furniture Village .

The redevelopment  re-utilised the existing buildings structural frame and slab, but  replaced the dated appearance of the original buildings with 21st century styling, and incorporated revised servicing arrangements and significantly enhanced landscaping.

Planning consent has been obtained and the development work commenced on site in May 2003, and was completed on the 22 December 2003.
