Directors * Associate Directors * Senior Staff * Support Staff *Please click on one of the above text links to 'jump' to the relevant section DIRECTORSMalcolm Shaw (Managing Director)Malcolm Shaw was formerly Property Director of MFI Furniture Group Plc and ASDA Stores Limited, and was the founding Managing Director of Gazeley Properties, the property subsidiary of the ASDA-MFI Group formed primarily to develop Europe's largest distribution park, Magna Park in Leicestershire, a property opportunity which Malcolm had originally identified in 1984. His other responsibilities included the strategic retail expansion of MFI, of Allied Carpets and of the main ASDA food superstore programme. When he was Property Director of MFI Furniture Group, he was responsible for the rapid expansion of MFI stores from 40 to 160 during the period between 1975 and 1988.
Edward Lea (Non-Executive Chairman)Edward Lea was formerly Finance Director and Deputy Chairman of MFI Furniture Group Plc between 1976 and 1986 and Group Finance Director of the ASDA - MFI Group from 1986 - 1988. He has also held a number of non-executive directorships, including Gazeley Properties and the Allied Carpets Group, and was joint Managing Director of ASDA Stores Limited in 1987-88. He is a Chartered Accountant and was Finance Director of BUPA from 1991 to 2001.
Bartley McGovern (Development Director)Bartley is the Director of Redbourn with primary responsibility for the site assembly and implementation of freehold development schemes. His main area of activity is in the field of non-food retail development, having over the last seven years overseen the completion of in excess of 300,000 ft² of retail floorspace, with a further 450,000 ft² planned. Bartley is one of the founders of Redbourn. In 1990 he was promoted to Associate Director, and has been a Director since 1992.
Peter Carroll (Finance Director)Peter is also a founder-director of Redbourn having previously worked together with the other Redbourn directors at ASDA, MFI and Gazeley Properties. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen in 1979, working on a number of major Plc audits and secondments. In 1980 he spent a short period with the small group head office team for an international manufacturing company, leaving in 1981 to join MFI. On the merger with ASDA in 1985, he was appointed to the new Gazeley team as Financial Controller, leaving to join Redbourn in 1988 as Finance Director and Company Secretary, his current roles.
